The benefits of wearing contact lenses include a wider field of view providing unrestricted vision, no condensation or rain drops on your eyewear.

As contact lens specialists, we’ll give you all the support and advice you need to choose the contact lenses that are best for you. Everybody has different requirements when it comes to contact lenses depending on their eye shape, prescription and tear production.

Our specialist team will teach you how to insert and protect your contact lenses properly after your fitting. Poor hygiene can cause infection and the wrong type of lens can be extremely uncomfortable.

We fit all types of prescription lenses including daily, monthly, disposable, toric, bespoke and gas permeable lenses and can supply virtually any brand of contact lens. Same day service is also available.

Taking care of my contact lenses

Your contact lenses are very delicate and need to be handled with care. Good hygiene is essential and will prevent infection and irritation.  Here are our Eye Contact top tips for looking after your contact lenses:

  • When handling your contact lenses, make sure that you clean your hands and dry them thoroughly with a clean hand towel.
  • Wear the contact lenses that are prescribed to you and don’t look for others without the advice and guidance of your optometrist
  • Contact lenses require special care and products that will help you to clean and disinfect them. Make sure that you follow the instructions your optometrist gives you for this process.
  • Clean the lenses by rubbing them with your index finder while they sit in the palm of your hand.
  • If your eyes feel irritated and sore, stop using the contact lenses and visit your optometrist as soon as possible.
  • Put your contact lenses in before you apply any make-up. This way, your contacts will avoid any contamination.
  • Never wear somebody else’s contact lenses. This applies even if they haven’t worn them yet.
  • Never put the contact lenses in your mouth or clean them with plain water. Both contain microorganisms that can cause infection.
